I’ve spent years mucking around with putting different herbs, spices, garlic, onions etc etc in my mince(ground beef) I just tried supermarket $4.50(aus) 18% fat mince just seasoning with salt and pepper and... WOW!!! It’s just the best! What would be like if I used my own chuck mince?!?! And cheaper than store bought patties! Oh and Carla, you are so entertaining to watch for other reasons too, I love your clips! Hope you come to Australia one day and do some demos down here🤓

  • Thank you for the idea of smash burgers - I will definitely try this. However, Carla ... you are not a multi tasker are you :) Plus, I always have all the dressing prep done before adding the patty to the bun. All the salads, onions, relish go on the top bun and the patty placed on this with sauce on the bottom bun before closing and flipping it on the plate.

  • The hate American Cheese gets is ridiculous. If your talking about them plastic sheets that come wrapped in plastic sure I get the hate but a nice deli American Cheese Like Boar's Head or Dietz and Watsons are fantastic. Real American Cheese is a a nice creamy cheese with a mild cheddar taste which goes great on burgers and hot dogs. Stronger tasting cheeses over power the flavor of whatever it's going on IMO.

  • Adam is ridiculous. Swiss and others are excellent alternatives. He may prefer American Cheese but that's not a fair assessment of a perfect burger by any stretch. Plus, grinding your own icy cold beef just before cooking makes for a much better smash.
