Sir Patrick Stewart Dishes On Future Of Star Trek’s Jean-Luc Picard | The Graham Norton

Comentários

  • I was hoping he would speak more about the new show.

  • What a gentleman Sir Patrick Steward is, so charming too!

  • That was gold.

  • What Episode # is this part of? I want to watch the entire episode but I can't find it. 😢

  • Booo...we dont want a beaten broken Pickard to help "destroy the past".

  • they didn't use it.... :)))))

  • Arthur Bostrom called. He wants you to know you’re nicking his act.

  • Make it so Patrick 👍😁

  • If Discovery is any indication of what they want Star Trek to be like this generation, it is safe to say they are going to ruin Picard's legacy.

  • Steward‘s voice is so iconic

  • Wow, I'm a French-speaker and his accent was pretty decent! Is there anything Sir PatStew can't do?

  • Le Entrepreeze make Borg le mier!!! Brillaint dear Sir, brilliant!

  • i love how everyone on that couch all being talented legitimate actor are all star-struck by patrick

  • Patrick seems very low energy on this and kind of frail compared to the last time he was on Graham. I hope he is ok cause he is awesome.

    • Yea. I watched another recent interview of him on this topic and was sad. When he made the initial announcement he seemed like he had the vitality to do it but now, I'm not so sure.

  • I love patrick Stewart. Superb actor. And how awesome,,, a new star trek!!!

  • every time he's in front a crowd or on tv he can't help but make people laugh thats what i like about him

  • Really looking forward to this series

  • SPEEHSS MAHREENES!

  • ..and all I wanted to sezz was the alfred the great cheese

  • In the next generation of Star Trek, did anyone ever explain why Jean Luc Picard spoke with a British accent and had no French accent?

    • He moved to England very young and was educated there. Yes, it is mentioned in an episode of Star Trek. I think it was this one - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_(Star_Trek:_The_Next_Generation)

  • I'm dead. The biggest fan.

  • nice to see Captain Picard's age finally caught up to his looks!

  • “but I’ve seen everything. I’ve seen it all.”

  • So worried about the SJW fools wrecking this and the witcher!!@

    • +ZipplyZane true I was only young when I watched it the first time but researching it ,it doesn't seem to extreme. Maybe in 20 years I 'll think discovery is a masterpiece too

    • And TNG was the most SJW of them. It's even remembered for being a bit preachy. And PIcard was a full on SJW. That's why we liked him. It's so bizarre what has happened in the intervening time.

    • Star Trek was always a bit SJWish. Almost say the original one.

  • Oh/Ooh?

  • Regina looks so beautiful!👍💜

  • 💜

  • If you can't stand up for the truth then yph don't deserve to wear that uniform

  • I'm amazed... There's Ricky Gervais, and he's not talking his mouth off, taking over the program! He's actually listening! Lol

  • Make it so

  • He's too old... :( This new series could be a nightmare.

  • I love all english slang and accents except i despise "telly." It's like nails on a chalkboard

  • 14 Frenchmen didn’t like the English dub of this interview.

  • #JJversePrimeIsntCanonTrek #25PercentLessTrek

  • Remember when Luke Skywalker came back in TLJ! Be careful what you wish for!

    • +Khy Maaren TLJ got so many "fans" in to a froth because 'their' story didn't go the way they wanted and 'their' character(s) did something those "fans" didn't want. (I mean personally I thought that having an important character go through traumatic events, become disillusioned, be shown a better future path, help save his friends and then ascend to a higher plane of Force-ness......was a pretty good story arc. But I understand that no one is allowed to like the film.)

    • +T Electronix They are in the minority. A very vocal and angry one, but a minority nonetheless. It's never a good idea to go into a movie theatre with hardwired expectations about the contents of the film you are about to see. You are more than likely setting yourself up for disappointment that way. This is what happened with TLJ and Star Trek Discovery, as well.

    • Yeah, and the seemingly endless horror of "fans" hating a film to the extent that years later they cannot let it go. Hopefully Stewart will be saved from all that.

  • It was brilliant. But of course it would never work with an American audience

  • It’s pronounced: John Luck Pickard.

  • Spess mehreens!

  • Hope they wont make him a bitter man who has abandoned his TNG philosophical ideals. For one thing that would be a predictable thing to do, but also that would go against the character of Picard, and finally we don’t need anymore bitter dark characters on TV.

  • So help me god, if Picard is the least bit jaded, bitter, or cynical in this new show, I will turn the moon into a laser gun and shoot CBS corporate with it. The world does not need a debased or philosophically compromised Picard.

    • star trek is founded on optemism across the board, unlike star wars which dwells in darkness far more often. Last jedi has a purpose, i doubt star trek needs that angle. That's not what TNG was about

    • Whilst a Last Jedi kind of deal is very likely to not happen because Stewart has creative control unlike Hamill, it HAS been nearly 20 years which tends to add at least some level of cynicism. As long as he remains a softie at heart and doesn't try to kill kids in their sleep, I think we can have a few grumpy "kids nowadays" lines.

    • ...yes...

  • PICARD!! 💛🖤💛🖤

  • Patrick Stewards suit tho.... Gorgeous

  • He is the true starlord :)

  • Patrick Stewart, respected thespian and huge ham! lol

  • That is enough 😂😂💔

  • This made me smile so big. I'm a huge TNG fan. Keep engaging Jean-Luc!!

  • I just wanna hear him say "fire the photon torpedoes", "engage", "make it so", "computer, Earl Grey, hot" and "Number one" again.

  • The Enterprise would of been doomed on it's first mission it was that French.

    • Would have instantly surrendered the second Q appeared.

  • I dont care how old Sir Patrick is...hes a total babe...his wifes a blessed woman.

  • His french accent is actually on point lol

  • OMG!!!!! I love getting access to your show via YT. Wish we had such a good, & long standing, show in Canada! Until we do....you’re the bomb!!!!

  • After the travesty of Star Trek Discovery (STD) I'm worried about the new Picard show.

    • Ricco123tube grow up

  • LOL - Love that he only had to say "Space" and it was already hilarious!

  • Apart from Kate Mulgrew, playing THE greatest of all Star Trek captains; Kathryn Janeway, Patrick's Jean-Luc is the best.

  • That man could charm my knickers off any day!

  • Graham Norton - anti Brexit anti British, more drivel from the BBC. Graham Norton says ‘EVERYONE’ thinks Brexit is bad idea as he blasts ‘bloody-minded’ Brits!

    • +nanny fc All the more reason to keep out of foreign affairs then.

    • Well graham is Irish so

    • +T Electronix There's nothing clever about it at all, they're just facts which you seem to lack in your replies. Are you actually a UK citizen?

    • +stephenb1962 And so......most people did not vote Leave. I get that you thought that last reply of yours was terribly clever but you miss the point.

    • +T Electronix Definition of most: 1 : greatest in quantity, extent, or degree the most ability Thus, a definition of most is 'the greatest quantity' which is a majority, therefore best stick with 'majority' and stop all this bandying around with semantics. Leave won a binary vote to leave the EU, 17,410,742 (51.9%) are the majority. Any mucking around with petty words will get you no where so why don't you accept it and get on with your life.

  • Please be good, please be good

  • Pickard is the best captain

  • Love everyone on that stage!

  • I fear the Luke Skywalker-like deconstruction of the character. As if writers nowadays can't build anymore, they can only dismantle and tear down.

    • That's what I am afraid of.

    • ...yes...

    • +Paul McCloud I'm sure being one of the executive producers does give Sir Patrick some say in how Picard is portrayed. 🙂

    • I'd like to think Patrick Stewart would veto anything that damages the character. But we'll see.

  • But he was French, just without the French accent. Wasn't he? Didn't he go home to a farm in France in one episode? Or in one of the movies?

    • People also tend to forget that Worf is Russian, 24th century sounds exciting.

    • Yea after he is assimilated by the borg and then rescued he goes home on leave to his family vineyard in france in the episode 'Family.' One of my favorites. His relatives sound just as english as him. I remember hearing somewhere that by this time in the future, french is a dead language.

    • +Offbeaten No he actually goes to his family home in France where they speak with French accents.

    • In the 24th Century Earth Language as we know will be gone, and the most common language will be English which is why Jean Luc Picard speaks English.

    • The semi-official glued together reason (not sure if true) is that Earth is pretty much a multinational borderless society.. I mean, they have transporters. Forget about weekend trips, you want a ski-trip to aspen? no worries, 10 minutes after you're done you're having thai-food.. in thailand.

  • Patrick doing the French accent never gets old.

  • Make it so.

  • Engage!

  • Thank you Captain Picard ... And we will never speak of Discovery again ..

  • I'm french and no offence here, but his french accent sounds german lmao

    • To you, maybe. To me, it sounded like an Englishman doing a 'slightly' over-the-top French accent.

    • I'm from Germany and nope, it doesn't. :p

    • Merovingian, I thought.

  • Wow his French accent is spot on!

  • gawd how hilarious 😂❤️

  • Big fan of spess

  • Jean-Luc Picard is the greatest Starfleet captain of all time.

    • @UCCnrDO9OhqylblvNv3bhSVA Without Spock, Kirk would be nothing.

    • +David Sharp Captain of that little patrol boat?

    • +Titus Veridius Nope, Sisko was promoted to captain around the middle of season three. And remained a captain for another 3 or 4 seasons.

    • That would be Benjamin Sisko. But Picard is a close second.

  • One question: Has Sisko come back yet?

    • Pretty much what I've heard, except replace "mad as a bag of hammers" with "constantly baked out of his gourd".

    • RandyPantheGoatBoy Avery Brooks probably wouldn’t do it because he’s mad as a bag of hammers these days. Also busy teaching I heard.

  • TNG ended way back in 1994, 25 years ago. Nemesis (the last film) was released 17 years ago. So where is he getting this “exactly 19 years” from?

    • I think he must have the number wrong, is all. It would 17 years from the debut of Nemesis if the show starts in December 2019. If they start filming in March or April, it would have been 17 years since he last wore his uniform, as filming for Nemesis ended in March 2002.

    • MasterSandman DS9 ended 20 years ago, he had a cameo during TNGs run.

    • He said for a tv-series! And I believe he had a cameo in either DS9 or Voyager after TNG had ended!

    • Maybe by the time it actually comes out, it will have been 19 years since Nemesis. Just a guess...

  • SPISS, ZE FINALLE FONTIERE! Oh la la O.O

  • I will make it so!

  • Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! What more can one say?

  • John-Luck Pickert

  • Regina King looks so good!

  • Admiral Picard..

  • Don't do it!

    • Schnitzengruben Its a done deal.

  • Spèisse, zeu final frontière

    • I don’t understand ... whythey didn’t use it? 🤔 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • They didn't use it! XD

  • i have almost no faith they'll make a good show

    • +Santtu Valtteri ?

    • +John H Baumgaertner That is the only way. Well, I can understand the disappointment if a long-awaited new series isn't to one's liking. Better luck next time.

    • You have to announce your disdain for Discovery or all the cool boys won't invite you when they do fun things like go to the mall and make fun of the stupid girls as they walk by.

    • +Santtu Valtteri You've got it exactly. And you must bring it up in comments/conversations that are not about that series, just to say that you don't like it.

    • +Max Flynn STD is exactly what it sounds like, a disease that needs to be removed

  • Star Trek Discovery is the worst sort of SJW globalist garbage.

    • Sigh. You didn't like a series, that's your choice but lay off the hyperbole.

    • Michael Ellis Yes but not as insane as now. But the same tribe have written every script since the 1960’s which explains the so called progressive politics and it’s every increasing insanity

    • +suzawilo Geezus Buddha. Relax. I was just trying to make the point that people on the internet lack nuances. People have a tendency to have very extreme opinions on the internet. And what the hell is even a millennium anymore? You can be a millennium and be born in 82. I am 30. Star Trek has always been a "SJW" show, and I like it for that. You are clearly missing my point about nuances.

    • +Haagen Neldeberg Modern SJW's....? Hahhahahah😂 You must be a sad little millennial boy. Feminists haven't been called SJW's before. It's only the internet era that does that. So maybe get off your gaming chair and go out into the world (may I suggest a thing called library, you know where books live) to educate yourself ☝️

    • Yes, honestly modern SJWs can be a frustrating lot, because the most vocal of them are very extreme and often irrational. But you can easily say the same thing about the people that tries to be as a anti SJWs as possible. It's like people have forgotten about nuances.

  • The Picard.

  • I'm so excited aboot a new Picard Star trek but I'm absolutely rigid

  • Did he discover the fountain of youth? 😲 💪I can't believe he's over 70, doesn't seem more than mid 50 s at most

    • He looks his age tbh

    • Corey Dailey he didnt age gracefully hes looked 70 for the last 30+ years, i love patrick stewart but he lost his hair young and has looked like a senior citizen since he was middle age

    • I wouldnt say its cash. Id say its because hes an emotionally healthy and balanced man who spent his life doing what he loved, so he has aged quite gracefully.

    • Yes. It was on Risa.

    • is that a joke? That's what fifty looks like for you? Do you live in Somalia where they don't get older than 50?

  • Haha! He’s the best. Can’t wait for the new series.

  • My favorite Captain

  • Won't everyone be mad when they show up to film and they all got older except you. 😊

    • he does look quite old these days actually its the lack of hair (which would have turned grey) that makes him seem like he hasn't aged as much as his peers

  • *What if everything in the world were a misunderstanding, what if laughter were really tears? ×*

    • watch out boys, sharp edge

    • Calm down, let the acid run it's course. Then come back to us ;)

  • Shut up Wesley!
